2010 is almost upon us (and might be by the time you read this!) which means we have a new selection of calendars for 2010 to choose from. This year, the choices are Unique with a capital U!
Firstly though, you need to forget about the usual dog calendars, scenic calendars, swimsuit and car calendars. They are all so 2009. What you want instead is, well, you're about to discover it... so keep reading!
Strangest 2010 Calendar Ever?
At the top of my calendar 2010 list is a 2010 wildlife calendar which includes the amazing frogs with sound wall calendar by nature photographer Michael Turco. This is not just a calendar containing brilliant photographs. You can actually listen to an assortment of colorful amphibians too!
However, please resist the urge to try and catch one though. After all, they are only pictures...
Another fantastically strange and completely compelling calendar 2010 is the new 2010 Dog Poop Calendar. How on earth people come up with ideas like this is beside me. (Right beside me in fact - I nearly stepped in it!)
The said calendar is called 'Monthly Doos' and features hysterical, actual photos of poop. Some of the shots have props posed next to the offensive piles, such as U.S. Calvary men on horses and toy steamrollers (to name but a few).
If you are not ready to purchase this calendar, which is bound to be a conversation piece, at least go to the site and look at some of the shots. It must sell a lot of copies since Scott Brunton has been putting these calendars out since 2003.
While we are on the subject of er, animals, let me recommend a new calendar 2010 that's really clever. Titled The 2010 Yoga Dogs' Calendar it features 28 impressive photos of various dog breeds performing some type of impossible yoga stretch.
Considering it's hard enough for me to do yoga stretches, then whatever the dogs can do has got to be worth a look!
The story goes that the creators of the calendar 2010 got the dogs to pose as close to a yoga position as possible and then they used Photoshop to perfect the picture. The end results are extremely realistic images of how dogs would look if they could truly strike a yoga pose. And funny too, of course!

Depending on whether you want to amaze your friends or humor them in 2010, your choice would be either go look at some of the funnier Amazon calendars here, OR explore more about those yoga dogs. Either way, may 2010 be your BEST year ever!
