From animal kingdom posters in science and geography classrooms to cat calendars in offices, animal calendars are huge right now.
It's pretty funny, because when I was growing up I recall animals calendars as being almost exclusively reserved for children. My little sister in particular used to love having animal pictures on her wall.
Mixing it with a beautiful companion
She would go through phases of course. One month it'd be horses - she'd cover her entire bedroom with horse calendars. (Or posters, one or the other!)
A month later she'd switch and go crazy over bunnies. Whatever animal it was, it was always fluffy and cute!
Of course, we have a fair share of animals calendars hanging around my house as well. I never get bored of them. But you know what? I always assumed that the animals posters and calendars were mostly for decoration. But there's a lot more to it than that.
That's because children absolutely love anything with an animal on it!
And you know, even by the age of three or four, children already have strong likes and dislikes. And when children see these animals on posters and calendars, they really get charmed by them.
Of course, some animals calendars have never gone out of style. When we get to see other creatures acting human it touches something deep within us. On the one hand, we are people living in the modern world, but on the other hand, we are still animals, with animal needs.
