I'll be the first to admit I know little about how a Forex calendar or FX (Foreign Exchange) trading actually works.

But it's amazing how quickly you can learn!

A Forex portal or website most likely includes everything from live currency rates, to quotes and trends and economic indicators...

...To world interest rates, and other important stuff such as currency converters, brokers information, trading strategies and so on.

"The foreign exchange (currency or forex or FX) market exists wherever one currency is traded for another. It is by far the largest financial market in the world, and includes trading between large banks, central banks, currency speculators, multinational corporations, governments, and other financial markets and institutions. The average daily trade in the global forex markets is over US$ 3 trillion."

If I understand it correctly, the Forex calendar is also known as a currency calendar. Forex trading (or currency trading) goes on continuously throughout the day... as the Asian trading session ends, the European session begins, and then the North American session, and so on... (Looks like they do take a break on weekends though!)

Political conditions (such as regional conflicts or instability) and market psychology influence the foreign exchange market in different ways, as you might expect. And yes... "many profitable forex trades are made moments prior to or shortly after major economic announcements."

Wow, you really need to know what you're doing if you're going to get involved with the FX market... :)

In fact, you'd want to have a love for analyzing market trends, understanding why people do certain things, be able to derive a forecast for the future... and probably a lot of patience too.
