The Very Unusual
Origins Of Mini Calendars

Did you know that there's an incredible story behind why mini calendars came to be mini?

Well, there is, and you're about to find out.

It all started way back in the 1900s. The story involves a notable figure, actually an incredibly gifted illustrator who was particularly fond of spending his time illustrating small calendars.

And who just happened to have an insatiable desire for being on time for everything.

Now some people may have suggested that this gentleman was perhaps a little deluded, or even paranoid...

Amazing Events Of Time

Just because he was so concerned with how the 'events of time' arranged themselves around him.

But his friends, being the kind hearted folk that they were, saw him as rather an observant fellow, albeit a little odd (but aren't all artists?) who really was just pleasured by the magic of the moment.

(After all, isn't that what 'time' is all about?)

And you see, his friends thought it best that a small mind opening adventure might just loosen up the shackles of time in their friends mind, and allow him to experience a taste of real life.

So one fine English day they gathered together and took this gentleman on a most magnificent hot air balloon ride.

Early Morning Balloon Adventures

They rose at dawn, when the roosters were crowing and the air so frigidly cold a man would have taken up cigar smoking just to stay warm.

And, so the story goes, when they were right above a most picturesque part of the English countryside...

The gifted mini calendars illustrator suddenly hoisted himself up onto the side of the balloon's basket, and slipped out into the cold air stream, immediately plunging hundreds of meters to the earth below.

Of course, his friends were rendered rather speechless.

Quickly they ended their balloon adventure and sought to find their friend, or what may have been left of him.

And what they found was, I must admit, at first hard to believe.

And Gifted Illustrators

There they discovered their friend, sitting on the side of a meadow, all tousled with mud and dirt, and very wet, but with nay a bruise nor mark on him.

For he had plunged into a small, remote and rather rare deep pond that softened his fall, and, for some strange gift of universal delight, was able to swim up to the surface and clamber out.

And that day, as agreed by all, was the best day that the world has ever known. Especially the world according to the gifted illustrator and his brotherly friends, bonded together from this one profound life experience.

From that day they all took to illustrating mini calendars. It just seemed the RIGHT thing to do.

I told you it was an incredible story, didn't I?
